Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with 12 other children. Her imaginative mind was a great way to get away from the pressures of daily life. The songs she wrote were composed before she could read and write. The first time she picked up a guitar was when she was just 8 years old and started singing at a Knoxville Tenn radio station at age 11. She recorded her first album during the same year with Gold Band Records, a small independent label. Even though she became popular in the local scene while she was at High School, she knew her ambitions were much bigger. In the exact day that she was able to graduate from the high school in 1964. Her first charting hits with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his syndicated television show. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed to RCA Records. However, it wasn't until 1974 when she made the decision to quit Wagoner's program as the popularity of her individual records like Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene was outstripping their joint efforts. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their partnership with Wagoner was the one to write"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and had it reach Number. For the first time, in 1974.
