April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star American is part of a select category of females who have been awarded medals at several Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and is set to join her at Tokyo. Ross aims to earn her Olympic first gold medal but she is also aiming for even more. With her age of 39, this may be her last opportunity to claim the gold medal at an Olympics. Nevertheless, she remains confident of achieving top honours. Ross told NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best and even play well and they are able to play well, the team can win a gold medal. This is also an issue of luck. Ross was born the 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided there together with her parents. Ross went on to play in numerous activities at Newport Harbor High School. While a prep student she was a participant in indoor volleyball along with basketball as well as running track. She was definitely the best player in indoor volleyball. Her college biography states that she was an outside hitter middle blocker, and setter during her volleyball career during high school. Her achievements were rewarded when she was named 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her for volleyball. Ross has been working with Klineman from 2017. However, Ross's beach game was established well before the year. It's true that she's had numerous big wins and one of them was a volleyball superstar. The pair teamed along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also was Klineman's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace on the international stage, claiming an international title in 2009. At the 2012 Olympic Games, they were awarded a gold medal. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio to beat out for gold. It was fate that had them. Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. In 2016, the duo won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross played for the Trojans of USC throughout her college years before becoming a professional. The time she spent at the school was one to remember. In 2000, she was named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman Of The Year. She was also named an All-American. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans reach their first Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal loss in her sophomore season however she was able to return in the ranks of an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons with the Trojans, she helped them to win two consecutive titles. In 2003-04, Ross was named as the most successful female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the US according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross was an USC international relations student was a volleyball star. Margie Ross did not get to see Ross achieve beach volleyball's top levels. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer when she was in her sophomore year at USC. In the aftermath, Ross continues to be close to her parent who died. Margie is a constant source of inspiration to her both at and off the beaches.
